These coatings were made to preserve your strings and help give them a much longer tonal life.
The purchase price on these are generally a bit more pricy compared to many other brands we examined. They are more than twice the cost of the Martin’s. However, many people realize that these strings last twice as long as the Martin’s. Do they sound twice as good as the Martin’s? Not in our opinion, however some could disagree. Some may even prefer the brighter tone of the Martin’s over these. What ever the case, the Elixirs are definitely a force to reckon with. They’ve got an excellent tone and they have got longevity. For about twelve dollars online, they still are not a bad bargain.
Some individuals have reported issues with breakage. Also, some people weren’t satisfied with the tone. As with a lot of coated guitar strings, it takes some users some time to get used to the much less bright, and sometimes muted tones they usually do not have to deal with when using other types of non-coated guitar strings.
